Departmental Archives of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (Archives Départementales des Alpes de Haute-Provence) (France)
The Departmental Archives were created by the law of 5 Brumaire year V (October 26, 1796) which orders the meeting in the chief towns of the departments of all titles and papers acquired to the Republic. They are first of all made up of the archives of the administrations of the Ancien Régime suppressed during the Revolution, of those of ecclesiastical establishments and of emigrant families.
