Guilford County is located in the central portion of North Carolina and was named for Francis North, First Earl of Guilford and father of the prime minister of Great Britain at the time. Register of Deeds has birth and death records from 1913, and a limited list of slave deeds. Clerk of the Superior Court has divorce records.
