About Me

I am Kathrin Kweseleit, a historian, genealogist and probate researcher living at Haltern am See in North Rhine-Westphalia/Germany. While I enjoy working at site I love doing research in all of the German speaking countries and the ones that were formerly German. I started research on my own family history when I was a child, questioning my grandparents about everything which was the spark for my love for oral history and history in general. When I picked up my studies to become a historian, I also worked from 1999 as freelancing translator and student for Medieval and Early Modern/Modern handwriting on several private historical and genealogical projects as on projects in the same field at the University of Constance, the University of Munich and the University of Bern. Since 2013 I broadened my professional focus by working as probate researcher to find living relatives of deceased persons for German courts, international companies and for private clients, did repatriations and searched for living relatives. I enjoy being in contact with other people and as I love genealogy and history I'm looking forward to work with you!
