About Me

My fascination with history began in my childhood with the stories about drummer boys, soldiers, immigrants, and life on the prairie and in the “North Woods” of Minnesota told to me by my parents and grandparents. Over time, that fascination with the past led me to careers in archaeology, history, museum studies, education, and ultimately, genealogy. As a genealogist and historian, I believe each individual, organization, and community has a story to tell, and I love to help people discover theirs, whether by tracing family lines, investigating historic structures, or telling community history in new, exciting ways. I have more than 25 years of experience in family, property, and historical research in the American Midwest, Ohio Valley, and Southeast regions as well as extensive experience in remote-access research across the US and UK. I would be honored to put that experience to work for you.
