The Archives of Historical Records of the Toruń Diocese was established by the decree of the Bishop of Toruń, Andrzej Suski, on June 24, 2001. The basis for the erection of the central historical archive for the Toruń Diocese, established in 1992, were the provisions of the Code of Canon Law. The basic functions of the Toruń diocesan archive were collecting, storing and making available the archives. The bishop decree obligated the Archives to issue a statute and regulations, which were to define the rules of its operation and the use of archival materials.

Before World War II, it was called the Archives of the Włocławek Chapter, which was a legacy from earlier centuries, when bishops resided little in Włocławek, and care for the entire diocese files was entrusted to the chapter whose members permanently resided at the cathedral.

Płock State Archives (Poland)

Płock has great archival traditions dating back to the 13th century. At that time, the Archive of the Płock Castle was established - one of the oldest archives in Poland. It collected files created by the chancellor and the starost. The staroste supervised the castle, managed the prince's estates and exercised judicial power over the castle. Originally the Archive consisted of parish files, which were included in the Łódź diocese, established on December 10, 1920. In September 1921, the Warsaw Metropolitan Curia transferred to Łódź parish files (119 units) and personal files of priests (100 files). After 1925, the resources of the Archives were increased by files handed over by the diocese of Włocławek.

Archives of the Koszalin-Kołobrzeg Diocese (Archiwum Diecezji Koszalińsko-Kołobrzeskiej) (Poland)

The archive contains documents and photographs related to the history of the Koszalin-Kołobrzeg diocese. Some archives date back to the 17th century.

Archdiocese Archives in Wrocław (Biblioteka Kapitulna i Archiwum Archidiecezjalne we Wrocławiu) (Poland)

The Archdiocese Archives in Wrocław provides for research purposes documents from the years 1155-1945, books and files of Wrocław bishops, cathedral and collegiate chapters, parish files and record books. The Archives also manages the department of manuscripts, incunabula and old prints of the Chapter Library. These collections include, among others an extremely valuable monument from the 13th century - a Cistercian manuscript of the Book of Henryków.
